Free parking options listed for Waterside Drive
The listed tariff is £1.20 for 30 minutes, £2.40 for one hour, £3.60 for two hours, £4.80 for three hours and £7.20 for four hours or more (slough.gov.uk).
Waterside Quarter provides the clearest general free period in the local evidence. Its car park charges Monday to Saturday between 9am and 9pm, while Sundays and Bank Holidays are free (waterside-quarter.co.uk). Drivers looking for an unpaid stay should therefore distinguish the private Waterside Quarter car park from the council-listed on-street parking, which has published charges during its operating hours.
Waterside Drive restrictions and Blue Badge concessions
Waterside Drive on-street parking is restricted to marked bays, so a vehicle cannot use unmarked kerbside space under the published arrangement. The listed enforcement period is Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and the parking tariff applies during those opening hours (slough.gov.uk). The authority does not describe the listed bays as unrestricted or time-limit-free spaces.
Blue Badge holders receive free parking all day in the Waterside Drive bays under the published concession. The concession belongs specifically to Blue Badge holders and does not make the bays generally free for other drivers. A driver without that badge must use the stated cashless payment arrangement when parking during the listed hours. The Waterside Drive information also identifies Ringo and PayPoint terminals in local shops as the payment methods, linking the payment rule to this street rather than to Waterside Quarter.
Parksy parking near Waterside for longer or covered stays
Parksy lists a driveway space in Stewarton, East Ayrshire for £51 a month. Its monthly format suits a driver seeking a regular parking arrangement rather than a short visit, particularly when the free period at Waterside Quarter does not fit the stay.
Parksy also lists a parking space in East Ayrshire for £93 a month. The listing is another monthly option for a driver who needs recurring parking and does not want to depend on finding an available unpaid bay. A secure covered parking space in East Renfrewshire is listed at £71.50 a month, offering a covered format for drivers prioritising shelter over immediate proximity.
For hourly parking, Parksy lists Howard Park Hotel in Kilmarnock at £3 an hour. The Hunter Health Centre in East Kilbride and Hairmyres Hospital in South Lanarkshire are also listed at £3 an hour. Those hourly spaces suit shorter paid stays when free parking is unavailable.
Waterside free parking when Sunday and Bank Holiday spaces fill
Waterside Quarter is the named local site with free parking on Sundays and Bank Holidays, but its free availability can be limited by demand at the destination.
A driver who cannot find a suitable free space can use Parksy’s paid options instead: a monthly Stewarton, East Ayrshire space is £51 a month, while Howard Park Hotel in Kilmarnock is £3 an hour. The East Ayrshire monthly space at £93 a month gives another recurring option, and the covered East Renfrewshire space costs £71.50 a month. These alternatives are priced listings, not free parking.
Parking penalties for Waterside Drive payment and bay breaches
It does state that parking is permitted only in marked bays, so using space outside the marked arrangement can breach the site’s parking conditions.
The published Waterside Drive information gives no payment or challenge procedure for a penalty notice. It does identify the Blue Badge concession, under which badge holders may park free all day. Drivers without that concession remain subject to the published tariff when using the marked bays during operating hours. Waterside Quarter has a separate operator and separate charging arrangement, including free parking on Sundays and Bank Holidays, so its parking conditions should not be treated as the Waterside Drive enforcement rules.
