Free Parking Periods on the Strand, George Street and Titoki Street in Parnell
Parnell drivers can use The Strand without a parking charge at weekends and outside the weekday restriction of 6pm to 8am, while residents can park there free from 6pm to 8am (haveyoursay.at.govt.nz). The Strand is also marked as paid parking with no stopping at all times in the relevant restriction, so the free period does not make every part of the road available.
George Street and Titoki Street provide Pay & Display parking from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and are free outside those hours (villagesquare.org.nz).

Parksy lists two priced 24/7 car parks on Parnell Road, both 140 metres away, at $10 an hour. These suit drivers who need a marked space close to the village rather than waiting for a free street bay. The Parnell Quarter car park is 270 metres away and costs $5 an hour, while another secure Parnell space is 320 metres away at $4 an hour.
For a slightly longer walk, Parksy lists Nicholls Lane at 500 metres and $6 an hour, plus a 24/7 Parnell Rise space 560 metres away at $4 an hour.

The Strand and Parnell Street Conditions That Control a Free Stay
The Strand’s free access applies outside the weekday restriction period of 6pm to 8am and at weekends, while residents are specifically included in the 6pm to 8am free period (haveyoursay.at.govt.nz). The Strand also carries a no-stopping-at-all-times designation, so a driver must distinguish the free parking period from sections where stopping is prohibited.
George Street and Titoki Street use Pay & Display controls from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday, with parking free outside those hours (villagesquare.org.nz). Auckland’s Vehicle Use and Parking Bylaw 2025 governs vehicle use and parking on council-controlled land and the Auckland transport system (aucklandcouncil.govt.nz).
