Riverside time limits, meters and permit-only restrictions
Downtown Riverside streets include 1-hour and 2-hour parking, plus 10-minute, 20-minute, and 30-minute zones. A vehicle cannot remain beyond the posted limit on one day, and moving from space to space within the same block or lot does not create extra time (riversideca.gov). City parking facilities also use timed zones, so a free period remains free only within the time shown for that space or facility.
Riverside meters have maximum limits of 15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours, with the applicable maximum shown at each meter. Resident and business preferential parking permits apply to designated areas, and permit spaces require the proper displayed permit.
