Parking Near Santa Rosa
Free parking at Santa Rosa meters, lots, garages, and Santa Rosa Plaza
Santa Rosa makes downtown parking free after 6 p.m. at any meter and in any public lot, giving evening visitors a citywide free period rather than a single designated street. Santa Rosa also provides free parking at all meters, lots, and garages on Sundays (srcity.org). The city’s public garages are free daily from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., although the garages charge during other published periods.
Santa Rosa Plaza offers free parking in its mall structures, with access through the shopping center to its stores and restaurants (downtownsantarosa.org). A driver looking for an unrestricted curb space should not assume that a residential street is generally free, because Santa Rosa City Code prohibits parking on streets or alleys for more than 72 consecutive hours (srcity.org).
A priced private space 4.2 miles from central Santa Rosa
Parksy lists a secure private parking space in Santa Rosa with 24/7 access, 4.2 miles from the search area, at $40 a day. The space suits a driver who needs reliable access when downtown public parking is full, especially for a long visit or an overnight stay.
The Parksy space is a private facility rather than a free city meter, public lot, garage, or Santa Rosa Plaza structure. Its $40 daily price makes it a fallback for drivers who value guaranteed access over circling for a free space.
Santa Rosa garage parking when downtown free spaces fill
Free downtown spaces are most useful after 6 p.m. and on Sundays, while daytime shopping, work, and events can leave meters, lots, and garages busy. Santa Rosa’s public garages provide the clearest named low-cost alternative: the garages charge $1 an hour and cap the daily cost at $10 (srcity.org).
Santa Rosa Plaza’s mall structures are another named alternative for shoppers and diners, because parking there is free and the structures connect with the mall (downtownsantarosa.org). The city garage rate is useful when Santa Rosa Plaza is crowded or the visit is not connected with mall shopping.
Santa Rosa meter hours, three-hour limits, and 72-hour street rule
Santa Rosa’s on-street meters enforce payment from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., charge $2.50 an hour, and impose a three-hour limit (srcity.org).
Santa Rosa also establishes residential parking areas with regulations and time restrictions adopted by the City Council, meaning a residential space may be controlled by a local permit or time rule rather than open unrestricted parking (srcity.org). A disability placard or plate does not turn a resident-only space into general free parking.
Santa Rosa parking citations and the 21-day payment deadline
Santa Rosa requires a driver who receives a parking citation to pay or appeal it within 21 calendar days (srcity.org). The city’s citation process therefore turns an unpaid meter, an expired time limit, or another parking violation into a deadline-based enforcement matter rather than an ordinary parking charge.
Santa Rosa provides online payment for parking citations using the citation number printed on the back of the notice, not the account number (srcity.org).
