Parking Near Sunnyvale
Free Evening Parking in Downtown Sunnyvale Lots 2 and 3
Downtown Sunnyvale has free evening parking in Lots 2 and 3, with entrances from Taffe Street or Aries Way. This gives drivers a named off-street option for an evening visit without relying on a private customer-only space.
Sunnyvale’s public street parking is also governed by posted restrictions and residential permit arrangements rather than one citywide rule. The City of Sunnyvale says residents in some areas may purchase Residential Preferential Parking permits allowing vehicles to remain on-street longer than posted time restrictions (sunnyvale.ca.gov). Those permits are for residents in an RPP zone, so they are not a general free-parking option for visitors. Drivers using an ordinary street space need to follow the restriction displayed for that location.
