Busy Visalia days and paid options when free spaces fill

Drivers who need an alternative to circling can use the paid Parksy storage options instead of searching for another free downtown space. The Visalia listings suit longer stays or larger recreational vehicles, and the Tulare listing suits a driver who can leave a car farther from central Visalia.
Visalia restrictions that can turn a free space into a violation
Free public parking does not allow every activity. Visalia prohibits occupying a mobile living unit, including a motor home or travel trailer, for living or sleeping on any street, alley, road, highway, public parking lot, or other public or private property (visalia.gov).
Visalia also prohibits vehicle repair or servicing on a parking area or driveway, and the city prohibits repairing, greasing, or dismantling a vehicle on a public street except for temporary emergency repairs to the driver's own vehicle (visalia.gov). Residential parking is permitted on impervious surfaces such as pavement or concrete in the front-yard setback, but that rule applies to residential zones and does not create a general downtown parking concession.
Visalia parking citations, payment plans, and challenges
The exact amount depends on the citation and violation, so the amount printed on the City's citation controls (visaliatimesdelta.com). The City of Visalia's parking ticket system lets drivers take action on citations issued by the city, including paying a parking citation online (visalia.gov).
Eligible indigent residents can apply for a Visalia payment plan under California Vehicle Code section 40220. Approved plans add a $5 administrative fee, allow up to 18 months to pay, and waive late fees and penalty assessments while the plan remains compliant. Requests must arrive within 60 calendar days of citation issuance, or within 10 calendar days of an administrative hearing, whichever is later (visalia.gov). The city also provides a one-time exception for citations on a California DMV registration-renewal form, with a $5 late fee and $5 administrative fee.
