Free parking at Evansville’s Back 40, airport and Ford Center
Evansville’s Back 40 lot at 9th Street and Walnut provides time-free and cost-free parking for drivers who can use its spaces (evansvillegov.org).
Evansville Regional Airport provides four hours of free parking in its airport parking facilities. The airport lists accessible parking in both lots, making the free period useful for short pickups, drop-offs and brief terminal visits (flyevv.com). The Ford Center lot behind the Civic Center has more than 1,100 spaces and is free during events at the Ford Center, giving event visitors a named free option near downtown (fordcenter.com).
Evansville event days and the cheapest fallback lots
The Ford Center lot behind the Civic Center is likely to fill during events because the lot serves more than 1,100 vehicles and is free during Ford Center events. Drivers attending a busy event should treat the free lot as an early-arrival option rather than rely on finding a space immediately before the start time (fordcenter.com).
(evcba.org) The $50 monthly garage rate is a named paid fallback for drivers who need regular downtown parking rather than a short visit.
Evansville’s timed parking and airport free-period rules
A driver using the Back 40 should therefore distinguish the free parking provision from the hours when timed parking rules are enforced (evansvillegov.org).
Evansville Regional Airport’s four-hour free period applies to parking at the airport, while each additional hour carries a charge. The airport also provides accessible parking in both the economy and parking lots, so an accessible space remains a designated airport facility rather than a general free-street option (flyevv.com).
Parksy’s priced garage space for Evansville overflow parking
Parksy lists a secure garage space in Evansville for $40 a week, located 5.7 miles away. The garage suits drivers who need a reserved paid space for longer stays, especially when downtown free parking is unavailable or an event makes the Ford Center lot busy.
The Parksy garage is a weekly option rather than a free short-stay bay, so it fits commuters, residents and vehicle owners seeking repeat parking more closely than drivers making a brief downtown stop. Its 5.7-mile distance also makes it more suitable for drivers willing to travel beyond central Evansville for a secured space.
Evansville parking citations and how enforcement is handled
The Evansville parking citation page from the City of Evansville should therefore be distinguished from Evansville, Wisconsin and Evansville University materials, which concern different places or private campuses.
Evansville Regional Airport publishes parking rates after its four-hour free period, including $1 for each additional hour in one listed facility and $2 in another, with maximum daily rates of $8 and $22. Those are airport parking charges rather than an Evansville city parking fine, so drivers should not treat them as an overstay penalty (flyevv.com).
