Parking Near Kerrytown
Free periods at Kerrytown Market, the Farmer’s Market Lot and Ann & Ashley
Drivers visiting Kerrytown Market and Shops can use its metered parking free after 6:00 PM and all day Sunday, according to Kerrytown District of Ann Arbor (kerrytowndistrict.org). The same district guidance identifies holidays as free parking days, making those periods useful for evening visits, Sunday shopping and holiday errands.
The Farmer’s Market Lot follows the same free-period pattern, with parking available without payment after 6:00 PM and throughout Sunday (Kerrytown Concert House). Free parking therefore depends on choosing the relevant period and facility, rather than assuming every Kerrytown space is free at all times.
Kerrytown restrictions that can end a free parking period
Free use at Kerrytown Market and Shops and the Farmer’s Market Lot is tied to the published free periods, while the spaces are metered at other times (Kerrytown District of Ann Arbor; Kerrytown Concert House). A driver who remains beyond the free period is therefore using a metered facility, not a free space.
City of Ann Arbor on-street parking restrictions apply from 8 a.m. to midnight on University of Michigan home football game days and other stadium events when indicated by the city (a2gov.org). Those restrictions concern on-street spaces, so a free Sunday or evening period does not remove event-day controls. Kerrytown Market and Shops and the Farmer’s Market Lot should be treated as separate facilities, with each facility’s free period applying only to its own spaces.
Kerrytown event days and the lowest named fallback
Kerrytown becomes harder to park in during University of Michigan home football games and other stadium events because the City of Ann Arbor places on-street parking restrictions in effect from 8 a.m. to midnight on those occasions (a2gov.org). The restriction makes an event day a poor time to rely on finding an unrestricted curb space near Kerrytown.
The Ann & Ashley Parking Structure at 220 N Ashley St is a named alternative for drivers who need a structured facility instead of circling for a free curb space (kerrytown.com). Kerrytown’s parking information describes the structure as hourly Monday through Friday, while Kerrytown Market and Shops and the Farmer’s Market Lot provide free use only during their stated evening, Sunday or holiday periods.
