Parking Near Astoria
Free Parking at Astoria Riverwalk Street Ends and the Old Safeway Lot
Astoria Riverwalk visitors can use public parking at various locations along the trail, including parking areas at street ends, according to Astoria Parks and Recreation (astoria.gov). Trailhead parking is also available at the west-most end on Port property, at Maritime Memorial Park, and at the Lagoon Road trailhead in the Alderbrook neighborhood.

Astoria Time-Limited Spaces and Permit Rules Determine Whether Parking Stays Free
A space without a time limit is different from a space reserved for a particular user, so a driver should not treat a customer, staff, patient, student, or resident-permit space as general free parking. The city study identifies the two categories but does not assign one citywide time period to every street.
Parking in a disabled space is subject to a $450 fine under Oregon administrative rules (oregon.gov). These penalties make the posted restriction, rather than the absence of a meter, decisive.
Parksy Spaces Near Astoria Listings for Drivers Who Cannot Find Free Parking
Parksy lists a parking space described as Convenient 26-24 2nd St. Parking in Long Island City, 0.4 miles away. The listing places that space in Long Island City rather than Astoria, Oregon, so it is not a suitable local alternative for a driver parking in Astoria.
Astoria drivers who need a paid alternative can use named local facilities instead. The Port of Astoria offers visitor parking at the East and West Mooring Basins through self-serve passes (portofastoria.com). The Astoria Column provides parking for $10 per vehicle, valid for one year, at the Column site (astoriacolumn.org).
Astoria Parking Tickets Cost $40 for Downtown No-Parking and Long-Stay Violations
The applicable amount depends on the violation named on the citation.

A driver disputing an Astoria parking ticket must contact Municipal at 503-325-3939 to arrange a court date to speak with the judge. Port of Astoria citations are separate from City of Astoria tickets, and the Port instructs drivers not to use its citation payment process for City tickets (portofastoria.com).
