Understanding Vehicle Size Restrictions for Moving Day
In Victoriaville, moving vehicle regulations are strict and worth understanding before your relocation. The town, located in the Arthabaska Regional County Municipality, restricts trucks exceeding 7.5 meters in length or weighing over 3,000 kg from parking on residential streets. These rules apply especially in neighborhoods near Boulevard des Bois-Francs, where commercial activity is heavy and space is monitored closely. Plan ahead with your moving company to ensure compliance.
Parking enforcement is active throughout the town, and fines range from $50 to $150 for violations. It's wise to contact the municipal office on Rue Notre-Dame before your moving date to confirm specific restrictions for your street. Many residents coordinate with local moving companies who understand these regulations intimately. Ignoring these rules can derail your moving timeline and drain your budget quickly.

Loading Zones and Street Parking Rules
Victoriaville has designated loading zones along Notre-Dame and Saint-Joseph streets where drivers can park briefly while unloading. These areas are strictly enforced, with violations resulting in fines up to $100. Driveway clearance is mandatory. You cannot block driveways, and vehicles must maintain at least 1.5 meters distance for pedestrian and emergency access. Know these rules before moving day arrives.
Special events like the Festival International de Musique Actuelle create temporary no-stopping zones requiring extra attention. The Parc-Lineaire Des Bois-Francs area also has seasonal parking restrictions during heavy foot traffic periods. Stay informed by contacting the Arthabaska Regional County Municipality directly or checking their website regularly. Ignorance of these temporary restrictions won't protect you from fines.
