The resident parking permit allows individuals living within specific zones to secure priority parking. This priority is within a one-block radius of their home, which helps alleviate issues caused by non-resident vehicles cluttering residential streets. For business owners operating near Imperial Street and Central Park, dedicated business permits grant access to car spaces during operational hours. This ensures convenience for both employees and clients throughout the day.
Trade and event parking options complete the permit offerings in this bustling suburb. Trade permits are particularly useful for contractors and service providers working across Metrotown's residential and commercial zones. Meanwhile, event permits accommodate special occasions held at local venues like the Metropolis at Metrotown shopping centre. The City of New Westminster administers these programs with clear eligibility criteria. Visitors can utilize non-vehicle-specific permits, but only one is issued per household. This makes advance planning essential for families expecting guests regularly. For comprehensive details on all permit types, consult the City of New Westminster parking permits resource.
