Why Street Parking Falls Short in Gorge
Leaving your vehicle parked on Gorge Road exposes it to serious risks that many residents overlook. British Columbia winters bring harsh weather: snow, ice, and freezing temperatures damage car exteriors and engines without mercy. Theft and vandalism plague areas near popular spots like Cammosung and Highrock Cairn, leaving owners frustrated and out of pocket.
The financial hit stings fast. Parking fines from the City of Victoria range from $30 to $100 per violation. Add potential repair costs from weather damage or theft, and street parking becomes an expensive nightmare. Council enforcement around Base Hospital is particularly strict during peak hours, making daytime street parking risky at best.
