The local council enforces clearway zone restrictions during peak hours, and violations result in immediate towing without warning. If you're unfamiliar with specific street regulations, the Mornington Peninsula Shire provides detailed information through their parking enquiries service.
Understanding these rules prevents costly mistakes. Areas near the public school on Station Street and the shopping district enforce strict time limits and clearway hours. Before parking anywhere in Mount Victoria, scan for signage indicating restrictions or time limits. If you're uncertain, contact local council directly. It takes five minutes and saves you hundreds in recovery fees and stress.
Disputing Wrongful Tows in Mount Victoria
If you believe your vehicle was towed illegally, you have rights under Australian Consumer Law. Document everything immediately: photograph your parking spot, note the time, capture any signage that was obscured or missing. Contact DVM Towing & Recovery first. They may have dispute resolution processes already established. Request written evidence of the parking violation that triggered the tow.
For serious disputes, escalate to the Macedon Ranges Shire Council and file a formal complaint with supporting evidence. Dispute procedures require documentation, so collect photos, witness statements, and any communication from the towing company. Compensation claims are possible if you can prove the tow was unjustified. The council maintains records of enforcement actions, which strengthens your case substantially.
