Start by contacting the towing company directly with evidence: photographs of the parking location, timestamped photos showing no clearway signage, or witness statements from nearby shoppers or residents. If the towing company won't budge, escalate formally to the City of Port Phillip, which oversees parking enforcement across the municipality. File a written complaint with your driver's license details, vehicle ownership proof, and supporting documentation. Understanding these specific zones and their active hours is crucial for Newborough residents who park in multiple locations weekly.
Signs marking clearway and tow-away zones exist, but many drivers genuinely miss them: faded paint, obscured by vegetation, or positioned awkwardly on poles. Don't rely solely on signage recognition; instead, learn the typical enforcement times by area. Weekday mornings (7–10 AM) and evenings (4–7 PM) are peak towing windows when traffic management becomes critical. Weekends offer more flexibility, but the Shopping Centre and station areas still enforce restrictions during busy trading hours.
