Disputing Wrongful Towing and Your Rights in Airdrie
If you believe your vehicle was towed unlawfully, you have specific rights and recourse options. Collect all relevant documentation immediately: parking receipts, photographs of the location, and any signage evidence. If parked legally, file a written dispute with the towing company, including supporting evidence. This process typically takes 7-14 business days for resolution. For municipal guidance on towing regulations, visit CAA member resources for broader consumer protection information applicable across Canada.
When disputes aren't resolved satisfactorily, small claims court offers legal recourse, especially for unlawful towing cases. Airdrie residents can escalate complaints through the city's regulatory channels if private resolution fails. Act swiftly: documentation loses credibility over time, and evidence degrades. Keep records of all communications with the towing company, impound staff, and any third parties involved. Dispute resolution requires persistence, but protecting your rights prevents repeated costly mistakes. Consider consulting Airdrie parking regulations to understand what constitutes legal versus illegal towing in your situation.
