Understanding Vauxhall Towing Costs
When your vehicle gets towed, be prepared for immediate costs. The release fee starts at £99 for standard vehicles, but additional daily storage charges apply if your car remains impounded. A single extra day can cost £25 to £40 depending on the facility. The maths becomes painful quickly: a week impounded could easily exceed £299. Vauxhall is served by various towing operators, each with slightly different pricing structures. Payment methods are flexible, accepting debit and credit cards upon release. Having towing contact details handy expedites retrieval significantly.
Beyond the initial release fee, you may face additional charges for vehicle damage assessments, tyre repairs if the car was dragged, or administrative processing fees. Some operators charge extra for weekend or late-night recovery. Lambeth Council publishes a fee schedule publicly, though contracted private operators sometimes charge more. Understanding the full cost breakdown prevents financial shock when collecting your vehicle. Always request an itemised invoice before paying, confirming every charge is legitimate and necessary.

Lambeth Council has formal dispute procedures outlined in their appeals process. Write formally to the council within 28 days of the towing incident, citing specific reasons why removal was unlawful.
