Understanding Sullivan's Disability Parking Permits
In Sullivan, British Columbia, the disability parking permit program operated by SPARC BC has served over 100,000 residents across the province since 1984. There are two main permit types: the Permanent Parking Permit, which is valid for three years, and the Temporary Parking Permit, lasting one to twelve months. Both permits allow holders to park in designated accessible spots that are marked specifically for mobility-limited individuals. This ensures close access to essential services and community amenities throughout Sullivan.
To comply with local bylaws and provincial regulations, displaying your permit clearly on your vehicle's rearview mirror is important. You don't need to own a vehicle to qualify for a permit. Simply being transported in one or actively driving it meets the requirement. The permit system recognizes that genuine need matters more than vehicle ownership, making accessibility inclusive for all who require it.
