Parking Regulations and Restrictions in Chorley
Blue Badge holders in Chorley must follow specific regulations to maintain their parking privileges. Accessible parking bays have minimum dimensions of 2.4 meters width. This extra space accommodates wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and transfer equipment essential for disabled passengers. These measurements follow national guidelines and ensure genuine accessibility rather than token gestures.
Misusing Blue Badge privileges carries serious consequences. Parking incorrectly in an accessible bay can result in a £70 penalty charge notice, and repeat offences may incur additional fines or enforcement action. More importantly, blocking accessible bays prevents genuine users from accessing vital services and appointments.
