Cheaper Hastings Parking When Rock-a-Nore Is Full
Rock-a-Nore Car Park is busiest during summer weekends and bank holidays, with delays possible when traffic leaves the site. Hastings Borough Council suggests Priory Street Multi-storey Car Park as an alternative near the town centre and a short walk from the seafront (hastings.gov.uk). Rock-a-Nore is also near the visitor facilities of the Old Town, so its free overnight period is less useful for daytime summer visits when demand is highest.
Hastings off-street car parks charge according to tariff boards, with council tariff bands including £2.50 for one hour, £4.60 for two hours, £6 for three hours, £9 for five hours, £10.70 for 10 hours and £12.50 for 24 hours.
Hastings Bay Times, Permits and Blue Badge Conditions
Hastings on-street restrictions vary by zone. Zones A, B, C, D, E, F and W operate from 9am to 8pm Monday to Sunday; Zones G, H, I, K and L generally operate from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday; Zone J operates from 8am to 8.30pm Monday to Friday except public holidays; Zone O operates from 3pm to 7pm Monday to Saturday; and Zone S operates from 11am to 1pm Monday to Friday (eastsussex.gov.uk). A section of Stonefield Road north of Milward Road allows D and G permits from 9am to 8pm Monday to Sunday, while the north-eastern side of Lower Park Road operates from 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday.
Hastings street signs determine whether a bay is paid, shared-use, permit-only, disabled or a taxi bay. Paid and shared-use bays require a pay-and-display ticket or RingGo payment during their applicable controls, while permit-holder-only, disabled and taxi bays operate at all times unless their signs state otherwise (eastsussex.gov.uk). Blue Badge holders must pay in Hastings off-street car parks unless parked in a designated disabled bay (hastings.gov.uk).

Hastings PCN Amounts, Payment and Challenges
Hastings parking enforcement can result in a higher-rate penalty charge notice of £70 or a lower-rate penalty charge notice of £50. The Hastings Borough Council penalties page states that all Kent and East Sussex local authorities charge those two amounts (hastings.gov.uk). A PCN records the alleged contravention, date, location, amount, discount period and payment or challenge information.
Hastings PCNs can be paid through the council's Parking Online Services by entering the vehicle registration number and PCN number, then selecting the payment link (hastings.gov.uk). East Sussex County Council also accepts payment in person by cash, cheque, postal order or credit or debit card at Hastings Library (eastsussex.gov.uk).
