Understanding The Glen's Free Parking Trial Program
Starting May 15, 2026, The Glen's trial program offers two hours of free parking in key locations including Montgomery and Buxton car parks. This initiative encourages local shopping and community engagement while maintaining council compliance through Pay-by-Plate meters and the PayMyPark App. The program recognises that reasonable parking costs drive foot traffic to local businesses and reduce driver frustration during peak hours.
Even during this generous trial period, users must register their vehicle using available payment systems to comply with regulations. Clear signage throughout the district indicates complimentary zones and their specific time allowances. Some areas maintain restrictions around peak hours, particularly near school drop-off times and weekend shopping peaks. Checking current restrictions ensures your visit remains hassle-free and penalty-free.
