Free Downtown Tulsa Parking After 5 P.m. and on Weekends
Downtown Tulsa street parking costs $1 an hour on weekdays and becomes free after 5 p.m. and on weekends, giving evening diners, weekend shoppers, and visitors a straightforward no-charge option on public streets (downtowntulsa.com). Downtown Tulsa also offers multiple public parking areas, although the quoted free period applies to street parking rather than every public lot.
Tulsa Arts District curbside parking is another option for short daytime visits. The Tulsa Arts District states that its street parking is limited to two hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, so drivers can use those public spaces without a meter charge where the posted restriction permits it (thetulsaartsdistrict.org). Tulsa International Airport provides a free cell phone lot, but the airport identifies space as limited, making it suitable for waiting rather than leaving a vehicle during a trip (flytulsa.com).
Tulsa Street Limits and Enforcement Hours That Affect Free Spaces
Tulsa Arts District street parking carries a two-hour limit from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the district says those parking areas are enforced (thetulsaartsdistrict.org). A driver using a curbside space in that district therefore needs to leave within the posted daytime period rather than treating an unpaid space as unlimited parking.
The University of Tulsa identifies a $30 overtime parking penalty for that violation. These rules apply to the University of Tulsa zone, not to every street or lot in Tulsa. A resident-only, staff, patient, student, or customer space remains restricted to that named group even when the user is not paying a parking fee.
Tulsa Free Parking Is Tight During Downtown Events and Busy Periods
Downtown Tulsa street spaces are most useful outside the weekday paid period and can become difficult to find around popular events, when visitors compete for the same curbside supply. The Tulsa Arts District also has limited curbside parking with a two-hour weekday restriction, so short visits during daytime activity can fill those spaces quickly (thetulsaartsdistrict.org).
When free curbside parking is full, Parksy lists a Living Arts Lot space in the Tulsa area at $1 an hour, a Beacon Lot space with 24/7 access at $5 an hour, and an American Parking Lot space at $5 a day. A garage space in Tulsa is listed at $2 an hour for drivers who prefer covered or more structured parking. These options provide named paid choices near the downtown area without treating a private space as free public parking.
Parksy Spaces Near Central Tulsa for Drivers Who Miss the Free Curbside Period
Parksy lists a monthly Tulsa parking space at $50 a month and a garage space in Tulsa at $2 an hour, both shown at 0.2 mile or less from the reference point. The monthly space suits a commuter or resident who parks repeatedly, while the garage suits a shorter stay when downtown street parking has moved into its weekday paid period.
Parksy also lists Beacon Lot parking at $5 an hour, 165 yards away, with 24/7 access; American Parking Lot parking at $5 a day, 0.2 mile away; undercover Tulsa parking at $6 an hour, 0.3 mile away; and Living Arts Lot parking at $1 an hour, 0.3 mile away. The Living Arts Lot is the lowest hourly Parksy option listed, while American Parking Lot offers a day rate for a longer visit.
Tulsa Parking Penalties and Ways to Pay a Ticket
The City of Tulsa provides a traffic and parking ticket payment service with online payment for any ticket carrying a printed dollar amount (cityoftulsa.org). The city service includes options to view a ticket and pay online, so a driver can use the ticket information rather than treating a warning or private-lot notice as a city citation. The University of Tulsa rule and the City of Tulsa payment service are separate authorities, and each handles its own parking enforcement process.
