Where to Park When Visiting Optus Stadium in Perth

Nestled on the Burswood Peninsula, Optus Stadium stands out as one of Perth’s spots for sports and entertainment. With cutting-edge amenities and a lineup of events ranging from AFL games to concerts, it draws in crowds all year round. However, a key concern for visitors to this stadium is securing parking. Here’s a detailed guide on where to park when heading to Optus Stadium.

On-Site Parking Options

Optus Stadium provides on-site parking choices. It’s crucial to plan ahead since these spaces are in high demand during events. Stadium Car Parks: The venue offers designated car parks, like Marlee Loop and Camfield Drive car parks. While they offer convenience, they tend to fill up on event days. It’s often recommended to purchase parking passes for these areas, especially for major events. Accessible Parking: Guests with accessibility requirements can utilize the designated disability parking bays at Optus Stadium. These spots are conveniently located near the stadium entrances for access. To use these spaces, a valid ACROD permit must be visibly displayed. Off-Site Parking

If on-site parking isn't available or if you prefer other options, there are several off-site parking areas within walking distance of Optus Stadium. Crown Perth: It is conveniently located a walk away from the Matagarup Bridge, offering a variety of parking choices, including multi-level car parks and open-air lots. Its close proximity to the stadium along with its dining and entertainment offerings makes it a popular destination for visitors. Remember that parking fees are applicable so arriving early to secure a spot is recommended. Belmont Park Racecourse: For those looking for another option, Belmont Park Racecourse also provides parking spaces. It's a 15-to-20-minute walk to the stadium from here, and parking at this location can help ease the stress of finding a spot. Make sure to check for availability on race days when the car park tends to be busier than usual.

Public Transport Options

When it comes to public transport options, Optus Stadium is well-served by train stations and bus terminals where visitors can park their vehicles. East Perth Station offers a park-and-ride facility that allows you to leave your car there and take a train ride to the stadium. This option can help you avoid traffic congestion near the venue. Similarly, Victoria Park Station also offers parking facilities with access to trains heading towards Optus Stadium. Using transportation not only makes it easier to avoid the hassle of parking but also helps lessen your impact on the environment.

For those who prefer not to drive, shuttle services and ride-sharing options can be very convenient. Event Shuttle Buses: During events, special shuttle buses run from different locations in Perth, such as major shopping centers and public transport hubs. These shuttles take you directly to the stadium, offering a hassle-free option. Ride-Sharing Services: Companies like Uber and Ola are widely available in Perth. Optus Stadium has drop-off and pick-up zones for ride shares, ensuring an organized experience. This choice can be especially beneficial for groups, reducing costs per person, and removing parking worries.

Tips for Effortless Parking

Plan Ahead for Parking: Refer to the Optus Stadium website and event-specific details for parking information. Buying parking passes in advance can save time and guarantee a spot. Arrive Early: On event days, parking spaces fill up fast. Getting there early not only secures your spot but also allows you time to soak in the pre-event ambiance. Exploring Other Transportation Options: Opting for transportation, cycling, or walking might prove more convenient than driving especially when attending crowded events. Stay Informed: Keep an eye on the traffic and parking situations as they can vary. Stay connected with updates from Optus Stadium and local traffic updates via social media to stay informed with the details.
