Located in the “Air Capital of the World”, it hosts over one and a half million passengers annually with non-stop flights to 12 different destinations. The most popular routes from Wichita Airport are to Dallas Fort Worth and Chicago O’Hare, operated by American Airlines and United Airlines. After being renovated in 2015, the airport has earned a great reputation for its cleanliness and ease of navigation. So if you're looking for a hassle-free flying experience, be sure to check out Wichita Airport!

Location Of Wichita Airport

Heading to downtown Wichita from the airport? No problem! It's only about a ten minute ride away. You can rent a car on the first floor of the parking garage, where you'll also find some other services and concessions. You could also take a taxi, limo, private shuttle or shared ride if you don't want to drive yourself. These are all located just outside the terminal, within 130 meters of the entrance. If you're looking to go even further afield, there's a Greyhound bus or Amtrak train which can take you from downtown Wichita to many other major US cities - they're both about seven miles (11 kilometers) away from ICT Airport. Happy travels! This can be improved by adding in more detail about the specific services offered at ICT Airport, as well as providing information on ticket prices/times for public transportation. This would make it easier for readers to calculate their options and plan their trip accordingly. Additionally, mentioning any tips or additional advice for travelers could also improve this content.

History Of Wichita Airport

In the 1950s, Wichita needed a new airport to replace the original site since it was being converted into an Air Force Base. The current site was selected in 1954 and commercial passengers began using ICT. With two of the factories near the airfield producing over half of all aviation twin-engine and turbojet aircraft worldwide, Wichita soon became a hub of the aviation world. The airport was renamed multiple times over the years, ultimately becoming Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in 2014 to honor the former Kansas-born president. The old terminal was eventually deemed obsolete and replaced with a modern one in 2015. That is how we ended up with the state-of-the-art terminal we have today.
